FAQ
-
Most Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) applications take around six weeks to process. However, if you are a foreign spouse of a Singapore Citizen applying without a Pre-Marriage LTVP Assessment (PMLA), it may take up to six months. Submitting a PMLA can shorten approval time to about six weeks.
-
The PMLA is an optional pre-application step offered by ICA for couples planning to marry a Singapore Citizen. Completing it early provides an advance indication of LTVP eligibility and can significantly reduce waiting time when applying after marriage.
-
Yes. You can renew your LTVP up to three months before expiry, but any unused validity will not be carried forward. ICA recommends applying early to avoid overstaying and to ensure continuous legal residence in Singapore.
-
The LTVP application fee is S$45 per applicant, payable online during submission. Upon approval, an issuance fee of S$60 applies, plus S$30 for a Multiple Journey Visa (if required). Payments can be made via Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, PayNow, or Internet Banking.
-
A Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident can sponsor an LTVP for their spouse or unmarried child under 21 years old, including legally adopted children. The sponsor must submit the application through their Singpass account and ensure all supporting documents are accurate and complete.
-
If you’ve renewed or changed your passport, log in to ICA’s e-Service and upload your new passport biodata page. ICA will update your records, and you’ll receive an email confirmation once the change is processed.
-
If your renewal is still under review and your LTVP is about to expire, ICA will automatically convert your pass to a Short-Term Visit Pass (STVP). You’ll receive an email notification confirming this temporary extension while your renewal is being processed.
